IGP Egbetokun Restructures Police Force, Inaugurates New Management Team

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has inaugurated a newly restructured Force Management Team (FMT) to enhance the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force. This follows the appointment of six new Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, aimed at improving police administration and operations.

During the inauguration, the IGP emphasized the need for a professional, service-oriented, and people-friendly police force aligned with the federal government’s agenda. He also ordered the reorganization of key investigative units, including the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), and the upgrade of the force’s criminal database to boost policing strategies.

To strengthen law enforcement, IGP Egbetokun pledged to equip police units with advanced technology and comprehensive training, ensuring professionalism, human rights protection, and justice remain at the core of police operations. This move signals a major step toward modernizing Nigeria’s security framework.
