The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking with the arrest of an auto spare parts dealer, Mr. Levi Chidiebele Ubodoeze. His capture comes after a three-week manhunt, culminating in his apprehension in Lagos, where officials found 75.5 kilograms of phenacetin, a dangerous drug-cutting agent, inside his vehicle. This arrest follows the interception of a cocaine shipment he allegedly attempted to export to Angola.
In a statement, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, revealed that the agency also intercepted a shipment of cannabis-laced candies intended for sale at a children’s store in Lagos. Two individuals, Adelamola Taylor and Musurat Lawal, were arrested in connection with the illicit trade.
Beyond Lagos, the agency’s efforts extended to Kano, Abia, and Benue states, where several suspects were arrested, and large quantities of opioids and cannabis were seized.
The NDLEA remains committed to tackling drug-related crimes through strategic operations and public sensitization programs across the country. Chairman of the agency, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd.), praised the dedication of officers in their ongoing mission to combat drug trafficking and abuse nationwide.
