Timileyin Ajayi, the 32-year-old accused of murdering and dismembering a female youth corps member, Salome Adaidu, in Nasarawa State, has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Ajayi made the statement during his hearing at the High Court in Lafia on Monday.
Earlier in the proceedings, he initially pleaded guilty before Justice Simon Aboki of the Nasarawa State High Court. However, after consulting with his lawyer, he reversed his plea to not guilty.
On March 10, 2025, the Nasarawa State Government officially took over the prosecution of the case. As the trial commenced, the prosecution presented four witnesses to testify before the court.
