The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports suggesting that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and murdered in Abuja.
Earlier claims alleged that assailants trailed Mr. Parradang from a bank, where he had withdrawn money, before attacking and killing him in the Area 1 axis of Abuja. However, in an official statement by FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, these reports were declared false.
Police Account of Events Leading to His Death
According to police findings, on March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, Mr. Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, in a black Mercedes Benz, paying N22,000 for a night’s stay. Shortly after, he was visited by a female guest, whom the hotel staff escorted to his room. The woman reportedly left the premises around 4:00 PM the same day.
Mr. Parradang did not exit his room afterward. Around 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, a close friend, who is a military officer and had grown concerned about his well-being, traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the officer and hotel receptionist entered the room and found Mr. Parradang deceased, seated in a chair.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The Durumi Police Station was immediately notified, and officers arrived at the scene to secure the area, document evidence, and initiate investigations. The deceased’s body was later transferred to the National Hospital for further examination.
Hotel staff are currently assisting with the investigation, while efforts are underway to locate and arrest the female guest who last visited Mr. Parradang.
The FCT Police Command urges the public to disregard misleading reports of kidnapping and murder and await further updates as the investigation progresses.
