Akwa United delivered an impressive performance on Matchday 29 of the Nigeria Premier Football League season, defeating Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan 2-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, but Akwa United came out stronger in the second half. Center-back Endurance Ebedebiri opened the scoring, converting a loose ball inside the penalty box.
Shortly after, Uche Sabastine sealed the win for the hosts. He received a pass from Osoba Kabir, made a solo run, and skillfully slotted the ball past Shooting Stars goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal, putting Akwa United 2-0 up.
With this result, the 2021 league champions have now gone three matches unbeaten. They remain in 19th place on the league table with 31 points from 29 matches.
