In its ongoing fight against crime, operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered dangerous weapons and stolen items in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
According to a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the arrests followed a distress call received by the Command on March 20, 2025, reporting an armed robbery in progress along Nung Udo Idem Ikot Okubo village.

Responding swiftly, tactical teams were deployed to the scene, where the suspects were tracked to a hospitality facility, which led to the arrest of Louis Thomas and Essien Nelson.
A thorough search resulted in the recovery of 4 locally made pistols, 34 live cartridges, a POS machine, laptops, phones, and other valuable items.
Commending the operatives for their prompt action, Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Azare, assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend other fleeing gang members and recover additional weapons.
