Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, secured a spot in the final round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers with a dominant 5-1 aggregate victory over South Africa.
Building on their 3-1 win in the first leg, the Flamingos sealed their progress with a 2-0 triumph at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State. Harmony Chidi extended Nigeria’s lead with a precise header in the 37th minute, while Aishat Animashaun added another goal to cement their advantage.
With this emphatic win, Nigeria advances to the final qualification stage, where they will battle either Botswana or Algeria for a place in the prestigious tournament.
