Jude Okoye Walks Free on Bail Amidst Alleged $1 Million Money Laundering Case

After days in detention, Jude Okoye, former manager of legendary music duo P-Square, has regained his freedom—at least for now.

Okoye was remanded at Ikoyi Correctional Centre following his arraignment at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja over allegations of stealing $1 million and £34,000. The case, which has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, involves his company, Northside Music Limited, and accusations of diverting digital distribution and publishing royalties.

Courtroom Drama & Bail Victory

Justice Rahman Oshodi had ordered Okoye’s detention pending a bail hearing after he took his plea. His defense counsel, Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN), had filed for bail since February 27, and after much legal back and forth, today—March 6, 2025—Okoye finally secured his release upon meeting all bail conditions.

What’s Next?

This legal battle is far from over. The court has scheduled Okoye’s trial for May 16 and 23, 2025, where more details of the alleged money laundering case will unfold. To make matters more intense, Okoye is also battling a separate seven-count charge before Justice Alexander Owoeye at the Federal High Court.

With high stakes and the entertainment world watching closely, all eyes will be on the next courtroom showdown. Will Okoye clear his name, or is this just the beginning of a deeper scandal?

Stay tuned for updates.
