The ECOWAS Wrestling Tournament has officially commenced in Abuja, with the National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko, extending a warm welcome to participating nations.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mallam Dikko reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the growth and promotion of traditional sports. He highlighted the NSC’s dedication to utilizing sports as a platform for youth empowerment, regional integration, and economic development.
Now in its 13th edition, the tournament will feature approximately 55 wrestlers and is set to run until March 8.
