Nigeria Women’s Football League Mid-Season Break: Action Resumes on March 19

The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership has entered its mid-season break, with the second half of the 2024/2025 season set to resume on Wednesday, March 19.

As teams regroup and strategize for the remainder of the campaign, the mid-season transfer window offers an opportunity for clubs to reinforce their squads. NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Modupe Shabi, emphasized the importance of this period for clubs looking to strengthen their rosters ahead of the resumption.

Current Standings

  • Group A: Remo Stars Ladies lead the pack with 19 points, followed closely by defending champions Edo Queens with 17 points. Abia Angels and Nasarawa Amazons remain in contention for the top spot.
  • Group B: Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens are locked at 17 points each, while Delta Queens, Naija Ratels, and FC Robo Queens trail behind.

The mid-season transfer window remains open until March 11, allowing teams to finalize new signings. The break officially ends on March 18, with league action resuming the following day.
